Originally, Viva Robusto was the name of a blog I wrote while my wife and I traveled around the world for ten months from 2007 to 2008. You can read the blog in its entirety if you like, by clicking here. You will need to navigate around a bit to find the older blog content -- check out the labels on the right-hand side for a neat way to browse the content -- the new stuff is all about food. Since our return to the United States, I've been using the name Viva Robusto as a way to brand all the creative works our trip spawned -- from framed photography to a full-length book, so far. It's not quite la dolce vita or la vida loca or some Spanish version of Live Strong. To me, Viva Robusto means living in the moment and making the most of your experiences, whether you're sipping Cristal in a thousand-dollar-a-night Vegas suite -- or camping shirtless on a deserted Mexican beach. Now, if you're here because you read my book, The Reluctant Traveler: How to Explore the World Without Learning Anything About Yourself or Other Cultures, you can leave a comment at the bottom of this page. |
